North Carolina Wesleyan College is delighted to offer The Shelton Leadership Challenge June 18-June 23, 2017. The Shelton Challenge seeks youth that are rising 9th to 12th grades students (graduating seniors included) with a 3.0 grade point average (unweighted) or higher. Cost to attend the program is $500 for the week. The cost includes meals, room, transportation during the camp, and any activities that will take place during camp.
Below you will find the link to the website if you would be interested in attending a leadership camp and engaging in values-based leadership. The core curriculum focuses on leadership roles and accountability, team building, leadership styles and situations, social responsibility, integrity as a leader, public speaking, changing behaviors and goal setting. These challenges are designed to appeal to youth who are motivated to learn how to lead others and make a difference for their families, community and nation. The results of this leadership camp have been outstanding. The application deadline is May 5, 2017. We will accept application after this date on a rolling basis until the program has been filled.
Also, The Shelton Leadership Challenge will offer a scholarship in the amount of $1,000 to students who complete the Shelton Leadership Challenge and enroll as a full-time undergraduate student at North Carolina Wesleyan College. The scholarship is renewable for each academic year (fall/spring) if the student maintains an overall GPA of at least a 2.70 (and is enrolled as a full-time student) for a maximum of four academic years.

Are you thinking about college but aren’t sure what to major in or even how to apply??? If you answered “yes” to these questions or even if you didn’t, you should apply to SATELLITE!!! What’s SATELLITE? Glad you asked! It is a 5 day Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) camp! It is hosted by NC State faculty and students and you will be staying on NC State’s campus! You will participate in cool labs (like making paper!) and lectures from NC State professors! Learn about the college application process and college life! Meet other students with similar interests from all across the state! Requirements & How to apply: Must be a current high school sophomore Submit 2 letters of recommendation Tell us why you want to come to SATELLITE NOTE: Grades are NOT considered Must be able to MAXIMIZE this experience
Cost: $30 per student (need-based scholarships are available)
Camp takes place May 13th -17th

The IFAL program is a one-week residential program designed for rising high school seniors sponsored through the North Carolina Farm Bureau. Students are exposed to the academic and research programs in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, and are familiarized with careers in the food, agricultural and environmental sciences. In addition, students gain experiences in leadership by participating in leadership training seminars, touring the N.C. General Assembly, visiting agribusinesses, meeting governmental officials, and visiting the N.C. Farm Bureau Offices.
